Use of the Zeiss surgical microscope for exceptional precision
To work with exceptional precision while preserving as much natural tooth structure as possible, our Zahn33 dental clinic in Pankow uses the Zeiss Extaro surgical microscope.
With 25x magnification and optimal illumination, even the smallest details of teeth, jawbone and soft tissue become visible. The mobility of the microscope also makes it easier to obtain a clear view of the treatment area.
The surgical microscope is used whenever high precision and detail are required for minimally invasive treatments. For example, in endodontics — root canal treatment — and during surgical procedures.
During routine examinations we use the high-resolution microscope for precise caries detection and to identify possible fractures in the tooth as well as leaking crown margins. With the Fluorescence Mode, the transition between natural tooth structure and artificial dental material can also be identified more accurately, which is very helpful when repairing or removing old filling material.
